Pictures from Camping

Here are some more of my favorite pictures from camping at Deadwood last weekend.  

We went with a large group - 19 including our family of 4.

We didn't get to the campground until around midnight.  Calvin and Hunter hung out by the fire while we got things set up - these pictures were taken at 2 a.m. when they were going to bed:

There were A LOT of mosquitoes so we applied layer after layer of bug spray.  Hunter only wore this hat of Grammy's long enough for me to get a picture:

Though I didn't get a chance to ride the 4-wheelers at all, everyone else went on a ride or 2, and the 4-wheelers actually got the most action just sitting there while the kids climbed on them and used their imaginations:

The last day we were there it rained off and on.  We had to build a rain shelter - good thing the Lee's brought their shade canopy thing and Stephen put tarps on 2 of the sides so we could stay somewhat dry:

Mother's Day

Please forgive me as I try to play catch up with my posts!  I know it's maybe weird that I'd go back (and so far), but just in case any family or friends want to see pictures from certain times I am going back...and you can't stop me!  ha ha

Mother's Day this year was like many other holidays in our family.  We debated who to spend the time with (it's always hard worrying about who may or may not get offended if we don't spend time with them).   

Before leaving the house, I decided to give Calvin his first haircut.  It was getting long and nearly hanging in his eyes.  I didn't really do the best of jobs cutting it, it ended up a little 'square' but oh well.

First we stopped by my mom's house to deliver her flower and card then we ended up going to Travis' brother's (Matt) house for dinner since their Grandma Helen was in town for the week.  Matt did all of the cooking and it was great.  After leaving there we stopped by my Grandma and Grandpa Broadie's house to deliver her flower and card (and also one for Clela since she and my dad were there) and also it was my Grandpa's Birthday that day so we had a card for him as well.

Hunter's buddy Hudson and Hudson's dad Nate came to Matt's while we were there.  Hunter and Hudson had a great time playing, despite the fact they hadn't seen each other in a long time.  This picture of Hunter cracks me up, and Hudson wore his shades the WHOLE time he was there.
It may have been Grandpa Wes' Birthday, but Hunter is the one who got spoiled.  In case you can't tell, he has a package of candy in each pocket, plus the one in his hand.

Grandma Records Turns 80

My Grandma Records turned 80 on February 2nd.  We had an open house type celebration on Sunday, February 1st.  I didn't get many pictures, in fact Hunter took all of the pictures I have here (except the ones he's in of course).  Taking pictures is one of his new favorite things to do.

Lost but Found

I had lost my camera for awhile and hadn't uploaded pictures to the computer...I found the camera yesterday, so here's a lot of info for you:

Sunday Nov 30th I wrote about getting some pictures of the boys with their Great Grandma Helen who was in town for Thanksgiving.  It was a little chaotic when we were visiting, so we didn't get the sort of pictures I wanted (her with both boys) but here's a couple of what we did get:

December 5th was my dad's 50th birthday (Happy Birthday, old man - ha ha).  We planned sort of a last minute, small surprise party for him.  It was quite an event - my sister and I took the boys out to my dad's house for dinner and Clela was suppose to call and have us meet her in town for dinner because she had to 'work late.'  She didn't call soon enough so my dad called to order a pizza - Mackenzie and I weren't really sure how to stop him so she secretly had to call Clela to tell her and they cancelled the pizza the she called and had to beg my dad for us to come meet her for dinner.  I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures for that either (my hands were full with trying to keep Calvin from being too grumpy in the restaurant).

Saturday, Dec 6th I took Hunter to the winter parade in Meridian.  It was a lot of fun, he got a ton of candy, pencils, keychains and even a stuffed animal (I believe it was church group that was handing out small stuffed animals to all of the kids).  It really warms my heart to see him enjoy things as simple as a parade.  He was waving at all of the people, making his car motor noises when the cool cars drove by, and making siren noises at the fire trucks and ambulances.

Calvin got a new 'snowsuit' from his great uncles Doug and Tony in Florida...they must have thought it was going to be cold here in Idaho or something.
